The Musical Soiree was a great success. We raised over £1,900 to support our activities. Well done and thank you to all the organisers!
At our recent AGM on 6th February 2016 we elected some new officers and recruited some much needed new committee members. The officers are Holly Nash (Chairman), Christine Beams (Secretary) and Philip Cameron (Treasurer).
The Charity Bridge Drive on 2nd February raised £469
"Teas on the Green" on 16th August raised a total of £351. After payment to the church for the facilites the net amount for Afasic is £261.
The Afasic Bottle Tombola at Ashtead Village Day raised £379 before costs. The Tombola Stand goes back to our first fundraisers in 1984.
We were the sponsored charity at a concert in Leatherhead by Soundbytes on 5th December. They raised an amazing £1,025 for our group.
The Afasic Stall at St Georges Charity Fair raised £442 - that includes some sales before the fair. Huge thanks to Elaine for providing all the items for sale. The Leatherhead Advertised has a picture of our stall in their article about the charity fair. Link to Picture Link to Article
The Quiz Night on 18th October raised £550 (including the raffle).
'Walk and Talk' was on Sunday 14th September. Fortunately the weather was good and everyone was able to enjoy the walk. In addition sponsorship raised £184 for our funds.
56 children and young people came on our Activity Weeks this summer - a record 34 went to Bowles Outdoor Activity Centre for the week. There are some Activity Week photos now online - use the Gallery tab above.

70 Parents and Professionals came to our conference on 8th March, where the talk by Professor Gillian Baird was much appreciated.

Fund Raising helps to finance our activity weeks as well as providing entertainment.
The group holds regular jumble sales and a tombola stall at local fetes. Family events such as quiz nights and beetle drives are also held. You are very welcome to come along and join in.
We also make applications for funding to grant making organisations, which may be other charities or companies. Employers often give preference to applications made via a member of staff.
